Rev. John Maich
Rev. John first joined the staff of George Street United Church as a Regional Appointment in September of 2019. He received a Call to Ministry from George Street United Church in the spring of 2020.
He loves good science fiction and is enjoying introducing his 5-year-old Grandson to the Star Trek universe. He also enjoys comedy and likes to share Weird Al Yankovic songs with his family.
He was born and raised in Brantford, Ontario. And now makes his home in Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.
Rev. John is ordained to the Office of Word, Sacrament, and Pastoral Care. His primary tasks are to study scripture and share what he learns from it, to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and The Lord's Supper, and to assist members of the congregation with their faith life and struggles they may have with it. When possible, He takes on other roles to free members of the congregation to exercise their Spirit-given gifts and abilities.
Rev. John looks forward to sharing post-covid 19 ministries with the congregation of George Street United Church.
Mr. George Parsons
George came on as a contracter in April 2010, and became a staff member in 2019. He works part time for both our church and the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre.
In his spare time, he likes to fish, travel, and enjoy music.
George grew up in Rabbittown (Hoyles Ave) from age 8 to 18. He has lived in Mt. Pearl the following 32 years, in Cowan Heights.
George is in charge of program development and delivery, and revenue generation. He also provides advisory services.
Mr. Reg Rumsey
Reg joined the staff in September 1982. He is in charge of maintance, cleaning, grounds keeping, getting supplies, and much more.
He was born and raised in St. John's and still lives in the city today.
Reg likes to wind down with some fishing.
In September 2022, Reg will have been here for 40 years.
