VOLUNTEER WEEK

The anniversary Committee of George St. United Church organized a special service and volunteer's appreciation social in ther Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre to lsalute the many volunteers that offer their time and energy freely to help provide ongoing services to the congregation and the many patrons of our outreach programming.

All  volunteers  were invited to join with us at 11:00 am on April 28th for a special church service in recognition of the valuable contribution. The service was conducted by Rev. Sue and followed by a networking social in the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre. There was a large number of attendees and certainly good food.

Hot Soup Cool Jazz – This year’s event takes place on April 23rd, 2013 at 5:00 pm in the St. John’s Convention Centre. As in the past George St Church has taken on the responsibility for the identification of 12-14 volunteers to assist in the soup competition. Our Outreach Centre competes in the soup competition each year and we are represented on the HSCJ Board of Directors. Each year we receive a share of net profits from the event and it provides the much needed revenue to operate the outreach programming. We are still short 3 or 4 volunteers. If you would like to assist please give George a call 685-0066.
