Expand Facilities Programming – scheduling. Utilizing existing facilities and programming scheduled events and activities that are suitable to a greater level of utilization. Some examples are Yoga, Tai-Chi, (not unique commercial operators?) In order to accommodate this, the Gym needs to be cleaned out and some upgrades applied. This goes hand in hand with number 1 in the revenue generation segment of the workshop. Facilitators Comments – consider the options Ø Publish a Request for Proposals (RFP) for commercial space that would result in a long term lease, compatible with the churches reason to be. o We renovate to lease requirements o Lessee renovate to their specifications
Also consider equipping the gym as a multipurpose facility for meetings, workshops, private events and other scheduled books on a regular or ad-hoc basis. By exploring this approach the facilities could still be available to the congregation for concerts, card games, fitness and the addition of external members as well.
o Consider the addition of internal catering o Contracting with an external caterer o Canteen/coffee shop o Equipment rentals
2. Focused and expanded Outreach Programming and committee. This should address: o Listening to pain and understanding the cause and effect- why absent, what are the actions necessary to correct, visitation list to address the pain. o Minister intensive- the level of commitment and understanding needs to be at the Minister’s level. This can be by telephone or in person but based on a clearly defined action plan and an evaluation of how it is working with changes in approach if necessary. o Could also consider training for lay-ministry to assist once the process is defined and implementation is started. o Follow-up on new babies’ families. o Invitation to church o Card follow-up to visitors and those that sign the guest book. Maybe a space in the guest book to identify who would like to have a follow-up call or visit with the Minister.
