George St. United Church

Welcome to the website of George Street United Church! Our church home is the longest surviving United Church (originally Methodist) building in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. We are located at 130 George St., with office entrance at 25 Buchanan St. We hope you enjoy your visit, in the true spirit of George Street! We invite your comments and contributions.

Mission Statement

As people of God, we form a community of faith in the United Church of Canada. We proclaim the good news of the Christian gospel. We honour our belief in a creative and caring God, whose Spirit helps and encourages us to create opportunities to meet the spiritual needs of our community.

We are called by God’s Spirit to reach out to those around us in love, using our resources to seek justice, healing and hope for every person. We welcome all who come to worship with us, knowing that we are all one body in Christ.

We accept the challenge of changing social circumstances, both as individuals and as a community. We commit to working together to create a loving and accepting church family; where we can support and nurture one another, secure in the knowledge that God’s love surrounds us always.

Please note that donations in support of the church and its outreach program can be made on line utilizing our secure system through Pay Pal. See the menu “Donations”
